Our story

Find My Wild exists because leaving isn't the end of domestic violence and abuse.

01

The beginning

Find My Wild was founded by Lauren Jane — domestic violence survivor, advocate and author — following her own experience of leaving and rebuilding after a 14-year abusive relationship. She left with her three children, believing the hardest part was over.

02

After leaving

Lauren quickly discovered that leaving was only the beginning. The impacts of domestic violence did not end when the relationship did. Rebuilding meant navigating post-separation abuse, complex systems, financial challenges, solo parenting, and rediscovering who she was outside of abuse.

03

The gap

Through her own experience and conversations with other survivors, Lauren recognised a significant gap. There was considerable focus on helping people leave abusive relationships, but far less practical support for everything that comes next.

04

Creating Find My Wild

From that gap, Find My Wild was born. A free 12-stage program that explores the journey from leaving domestic violence and abuse through to rebuilding and healing. The program brings together lived experience, practical rebuilding tools, education, resources and support.

05

What Finding My Wild means

For Lauren, Finding My Wild represents finding the raw, authentic version of yourself again after abuse. It is the process of coming home to who you were always meant to be.

06

What it has become

Alongside building Find My Wild, Lauren has shared her lived experience with millions through social media, podcast appearances, keynote presentations, community events and major industry events. She is also the self-published author of Finding My Wild, a book that shares her personal journey while offering reflection and practical guidance.

07

The app

In 2026, Lauren expanded Find My Wild with the launch of the Find My Wild web app, making the complete 12-stage program free and accessible in one place, alongside practical resources, rebuilding tools and support.

08

Where it's going

Today, Find My Wild supports humans who are living in, leaving and rebuilding from domestic violence and abuse. Rather than focusing solely on the moment someone leaves, Find My Wild walks alongside humans through the entire journey — from leaving through to rebuilding, healing and finding themselves again.
